A surprising and dramatic event at the end of the turbulent 1960s, The Stonewall Riots launched a worldwide movement for gay rights. Join the Academy of the Company Theatre’s OutProv Troupe as we host an evening recounting these historic days in June 1969 with a discussion by Stonewall survivor David Velasco Bermudez and his husband Bob Isadore. Following the presentation will be a showing of the film Stonewall Uprising. Told by those who were there, from drag queens and street hustlers to detectives, journalists, and the former mayor of New York, this is a passionate and compassionate reconstruction of the historic standoff between police and the LGBT community.
The Film will be presented with Closed Captioning.
