DEADLINE: May 27th
The Academy of The Company Theatre Conservatory announces video auditions for teen actors (14-20) for their upcoming summer production of Avenue Q School Edition. The production is directed by Danny Bolton with musical direction by Melissa Carubia and is a special production of Academy of The Company Theatre’s Summer Workshop. All students cast who are eligible for vaccination must be fully vaccinated by July 5th to participate. Submissions will be accepted until May 27th. Avenue Q School Edition is part flesh, part felt, and packed with heart. This laugh-out-loud musical tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton, who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that, although the residents seem nice, it’s clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life. Filled with gut-busting humor and a delightfully catchy score by Robert Lopez (Frozen), and not to mention puppets, Avenue Q School Edition is a truly unique show that has quickly become a favorite for audiences everywhere. RATED PG-13
Audition candidates should sing a song from the show in the show key, or a song in a similar musical theatre style. Please use accompaniment, as acapella auditions will not be accepted. Actors of all ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Videos will be accepted until May 27th.
