The award-winning Company Theatre announces non-equity open call auditions for their upcoming production of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol on Sunday, September 22, 1 pm, at The Company Theatre Centre for the Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell, MA. The production is directed by Zoe Bradford and Jordie Saucerman, choreographed by Sally Ashton Forrest, with music direction by Steve Bass.
The Company Theatre is proud to bring back a joyous South Shore holiday tradition, our signature production of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Three spirits visit the miserly Scrooge on Christmas Eve and whisk him away on a journey through memories of his past and glimpses of his future. In one haunted evening, Scrooge sees the error of his ways and repents just in time for a glorious Christmas morning. Charming storybook sets, ghostly special effects, and beautiful holiday music conjure up new holiday merriment for theater-goers young and young at heart.
Actors auditioning for non-singing roles need not prepare a song for audition, but will be asked to read from the script. Singers are needed for the ensemble, and should be prepared to sing a Christmas song, carol, or hymn, and may be asked to read an excerpt from the script in a British accent. Audition candidates may bring their own sheet music, and should also bring a headshot or snapshot. A resume is helpful, but not required. Actors not available to audition in person are encouraged to submit a video audition to email@example.com. There is not a dance audition.
Rehearsal throughout the production season are held Mondays and Thursdays from 7 to 10 pm, Sundays from 3 to 6 pm.
Performances of A Christmas Carol will be held from November 29 through December 22. For a complete performance schedule or to order tickets, please visit www.companytheatre.com.
