The Academy of The Company Theatre Summer Workshop is for students ages 5-18.
Each student chooses six classes per day.
ACT Summer Workshop offers over seventy classes in the performing and visual arts.
Offerings for All!
ACT JR (ages 5-7) 1:00pm-3pm Tuition: $395.00
Children will arrive at 1:00 pm and spend the afternoon with their teachers to learn songs, dances, crafts and theatre play. Designed to introduce the young one to the arts and explore their creativity, A.C.T. Jr. will provide your children with an enriching art and theatre experience while building self-confidence and self-esteem.
Meeting the same three weeks as our Full Program, ACT JR with no class on July 13th. ACT JR not perform on our final day, Arts Festival Day, but will have a performance for families on July 12th at 2:30pm.
Children will pre-select their 6 classes, attending from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Preview last years’ classes below. Highlights from performance classes will be presented on July 14th at the Arts Festival.
We are offering our teens a variety of options in order to fit their busy schedules.
Teen may attend our summer workshop the same as always, choose six classes per day. 9:00-3:00pm Tuition $995.00
Pre-pro (A pre-professional intensive workshop) 9:00-12:30 Tuition $650
A half–day program, Pre-Pro for Teens is designed for the actor or dancer who wants to seriously study for their future development, in a lively and supportive environment.
Actors start off with On the Scene, exploring acting technique through contemporary scene work, culminating in the performance of a one-act play. Students continue with a choice of classes including Ace Your Audition, Movement for Actors, Directing and Stage Combat.
Dancers will join A.C.T. Summer Contemporaries, an ensemble of performers who create and perform their own choreography and movement concepts. Dance electives such as ballet and tap will be offered to round out their learning.
Both tracks perform at A.C.T. Summer Workshop Arts Festival on July 14th.
Rocky Horror Production 12:15-4:15pm Tuition $395
Students will work on the production of Rocky Horror to be performed on July 12 and July 13 at 7pm. Highlights from Rocky Horror will be performed on July 14th at the Arts Festival. Cast members of Rocky Horror cannot be CITs due to time constraints.
Rocky Horror Production is by audition only. $2o audition fee.
Pre-pro and Rocky Horror can be combined for a discounted rate of $995.

Late in May, we will email you a link to choose your classes.
You will be registered in the classes in the order your class request is received. There is a capacity limit on class size, so please submit a first and second choice for each class period. Every effort is made to fit students into their first choice classes. However, this is not always possible. Please be aware of this when you register.
SEND IN YOUR FINAL PAYMENT
You will receive a confirmation of your class schedule and your total balance due including lab fees. Please pay this immediately. All tuition and lab fees must be paid by JUNE 9th, 2017.

– FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS –
Does my child bring a lunch?
Yes, children are required to bring a lunch clearly labeled with their name. Snacks and beverages are available for sale all day.
My child will start First Grade in the Fall – can they attend?
It is preferred that your child is at least seven years old and/or has completed first grade in order to participate in full days, but they are welcome to sign up for ACT Jr.
Can my child bring a friend?
Yes. Students may bring a guest for a maximum of two days. You must complete an emergency form for the friend and pay a $75.00 per day fee.
Do you offer scholarship assistance?
Yes. The Donald Messinger Memorial Scholarship offers partial scholarships based on need and ability.
What is a Counselor-in-Training and Junior Counselor-in-Training?
A Counselor-in-Training (CIT) is an assistant to the counselors during classes. A Junior Counselor-in-Training is an assistant to the CITs. Cast members of Rocky Horror cannot be CITs due to time constraints.
We cannot attend the Arts Festival Day. Should I not sign up my child?
Most of the classes are geared towards a final project for Arts Festival Day. But, not all classes are performance classes. Your child is welcome to attend, we just ask that either he/she choose non-performing classes or that he/she informs their counselors on the first day of classes.

Each summer we hire experienced musicians, actors, directors, dancers and artisans with a passion for teaching to share their craft and inspire your child.
